Start at setting 12 for a medium roast. Finer is a lower number.
Where to start
- Light roast: setting 10. Medium: setting 12. Dark: setting 14.
- Usual espresso range: 1 to 30 (setting).
- One small step: 1 setting.
- Out of the box the upper burr sits at 6. If the finest settings still aren't fine enough for an unpressurised basket, move the upper burr finer, one number at a time.
