Comandante C40 (standard axle): espresso grind setting
Start at 10 clicks from zero for a medium roast. Finer is fewer clicks.
Where to start
- Light roast: 8 clicks from zero. Medium: 10 clicks from zero. Dark: 12 clicks from zero.
- Usual espresso range: 7 to 13 (clicks from zero).
- One small step: 1 clicks from zero.
- Zero point: Comandante's zero: hold it level, open the burrs, then close slowly until the handle stops falling.
- The standard axle's clicks are coarse for espresso: fine-tune between clicks with the yield. The Red Clix axle halves the step.
The light and dark starting points are two small steps either side of the medium one: our rule of thumb, not the maker's.
