Breville Barista Touch: your first espresso shot
Start with 18 g of coffee in and 36 g in the cup (1:2) for a medium roast. The grind number depends on your grinder: find yours below, then taste and adjust.
The recipe
- Dose: 18 g (the 2-cup basket holds 16 to 19 g).
- Stop at: 36 g in the cup (1:2) for a medium roast, 45 g for a light roast. The presets stop by volume or time. For manual: press and hold Brew for about 2 s, then touch Brew to start, and again to stop when the scale reads your target weight.
- Temperature: Temperature: leave the default.
- Pre-infusion: Fixed low-pressure pre-infusion; no setting.
- Check: the first drips should appear after about 8 to 12 s. Much sooner means grind finer; much later, coarser.
Where to start on your grinder
